Man I wish reporters at the White House would grow some cojones.
"So President Bush, your concern for the Avian Flu is that it might evolve into a strain that is passable from human to human?"
"That's right."
"Mr. President, I thought you didn't believe in evolution."
"........."
"Sir?"
"Well... I believe in Intelligent Design."
"So God wants a plague to evolve?"
"....yes."
On a lighter note.
Anyone ever heard of Bible Dipping? Well, there’s a new fad these days called Coulter Dips. Go to your nearest bookstore and find Ann Coulter’s new hardcover book “Godless: The Church of Liberalism”, open it to a random page and read a random sentence. The results will astound you. Forget reading your horoscope, Ann Coulter Dips can provide you with valuable life lessons and advice.
The following are three real Ann Coulter Dips:
“Of course, only teachers get long summer vacations, ‘professional development’ days, snow days, and every conceivable federal holiday, it appears that the only people who get better compensation that teachers for nine month’s work are professional baseball players (157).”
“The Democrats will sell out blacks, blue-collar workers, Catholics, Hispanics, and the elderly (97).” I would dearly love to know the sentence above that one, but I can’t, it’s against the rules of the Ann Coulter Dip.
“At least the embryonic stem-cell researchers have a clear financial incentive to lie about adult stem-cell research. Liberals just want to kill humans (195).” Whoops read the next sentence!

just so you all know, that was erik's post. bravo, young skywalker.
No Chris! Never reveal our identities, because that way when you run for office and this blog says a great many offensive things, you can just blame us for writing them! It's the perfect plan, don't ruin it!
That quote of Bush makes me angry. I think its because I dont like ignorance adn stupidity. But evolution of species and and mutations in strains of bacteria and viruses is totaly different. And if Bush were well educated he should have been able to make the reporter look stupid instead of himself. WHY! ANGER!? STUPID....dont click on any links this post might create
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virus_evolution
Please read that very short paragraph that proves you wrong.
Also, to clarify, president Bush was never asked those questions, or else I wouldn't have asked reporters to grow cojones because the event would have actually taken place. Sorry if I led someone to believe he actually said something stupid. To make it up to you, here is an ACTUAL George Bush quote.
"I've coined new words, like, 'misunderstanding' and Hispanically." - Radio-television Correspondents Association dinner, March 29, 2001
this isn't going to much of a comment- but that "conversation" was absolutely hillarious haha. bravo
you cant use a wikipedia entry for proof I could have made that entry if i was there first. They mutate they dont evolve erik is a n00b
I forgot, you had secretly learned of my intention to use wikipedia and got there first and edited it. Ingenious plan.
Also, please don't just say that something is wrong and then not give a single citation to prove it. So the following is an example of how to correctly do it.
"Mutation is the driving force behind evolution by random mutations in the alleles of a population from one generation to the next" pg.7 of my new Human Biology: Health, Homeostasis and the Environment textbook.
Although mutations and evolution are different words (!) ( a mutation being the description of the event happening at the microlevel in the cell's genes and evolution being a description of a cell mutating and then following the effect of the mutation into the macro-level world (for example: a change in a moth's wing color would be defined as a mutation if confined to a petri-dish. If an entire species of moths had their wing color changed it would be described as evolution.)) Because a mutation in the Avian Flu virus would have a profound affect on the world I would describe it in day-to-day conversation (and also in scientific conversation if not talking about the specific genes that mutated) as 'evolution'.
rock on science!
good, level-headedness and fact erik.
peace!
(ps. i'm just kinda passing through and being interested)
so who's the enstein that was real dialogue from a press conference?
I'm a little slow on the uptake, so now I actually get that this is a blog made by you 3, and not crazy people somewhere else.
Anyways, pretty sweet, keep posting... or else.
I don't know what else, but something!
(ps. I'm stuck in my room with painkillers and movies, so feel free to disregard me)
